BOSE KRISHNAMACHARI
Bose Krishnamachari, an acclaimed Indian painter and artist-curator, is based in Mumbai, India. Born in 1963 in Mangattukara village near Angamaly, Kerala, he began his early education at Government Higher Secondary School in Puliyanam. He pursued his Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) at Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai, graduating in 1991, and later earned a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from Goldsmiths’ College, University of London, in 2000.
Throughout his career, Bose has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi Award (1985), the British Council Travel Award (1993), the Mid-America Arts Alliance Award (1996), and the Charles Wallace India Trust Award (1999–2000). He was also the first runner-up for the Bose Pacia Prize for Modern Art in New York in 2001. His artistic range spans vivid abstract paintings, figurative drawings, sculpture, photography, multimedia installations, and architecture.
Since 1985, he has lived and worked in Mumbai, where he is deeply involved in the art scene.
