CHANDRA BHATTACHARJEE

Chandra Bhattacharjee, born on November 18, 1961, in Patuli (Bardhaman), West Bengal, embarked on an artistic journey that would take him to esteemed heights. Graduating with first-class honors from the Indian College of Art and Draughtsmanship in 1986, he also received a gold medal from Rabindra Bharati University for his excellence in fine arts. Beginning his career as a billboard artist, Bhattacharjee’s talent soon propelled him to renown. His work has been featured in numerous group shows, including those organized by Gallery ThresholdPalette (New Delhi)Sumukha Gallery (Bangalore)The Guild, and Tao in Mumbai, as well as Gallery 88 (Calcutta). His pieces are part of several global collections and have been showcased in various auctions. Through his art, Bhattacharjee strives to capture the vast, untamed beauty of the natural world. His photographs, often large-scale and expansive, contrast with his painterly focus on nature’s intricate details. In his landscapes, every element holds significance. The relentless power of nature permeates his being, influencing his perceptions and creativity. This sensitivity has become an integral part of his artistic expression, as he distills his emotions and observations into minimal, evocative forms that oscillate between the literal and metaphorical.
