Shyamal Mukherjee, a Bengali artist, has spent his life immersed in the vibrant culture of Calcutta. Born in 1961, he pursued his artistic passion at Santiniketan, completing his BFA in 1987 and MFA in 1989 from Rabindra Bharati University. Mukherjee's artistic vision is rooted in the universal human experience. He believes that despite physical differences, individuals share commonalities in character and behavior. This philosophy is reflected in his artwork, where he often depicts people in pairs or groups, highlighting their shared humanity.
