Awash in transcendent shades of gold and blue, this luminous composition transforms the female form into a powerful emblem of elemental connection and cosmic resonance. The figure, rendered with fluid elegance, becomes both symbol and vessel, her presence dissolving into the surrounding environment, blurring the delineations between body, nature, and spirit. Flowing strands of hair intertwine with celestial and organic motifs, evoking rivers, roots, and starlight, and situating the subject within an eternal, life-giving continuum.
With one arm raised in poised defiance and the other resting gently near a blooming lotus, the figure articulates a duality, assertion and serenity, resistance and renewal. The lotus, long a symbol of spiritual awakening and resilience across cultures, becomes an extension of her gesture, reinforcing the theme of womanhood as a generative and transcendent force. Her expression, composed and inward-looking, suggests not fragility but profound inner fortitude, a quiet yet potent counterpoint to the chaos and change that surround her. The artist’s refined use of color enhances the symbolic weight of the work. Gold, emblematic of the sacred and eternal, intermingles with deep blues that conjure night skies and hidden depths. This interplay creates a visual atmosphere both radiant and introspective, inviting viewers into a space where divinity and earthly existence converge. Subtle textures and gestural lines imbue the surface with movement and vitality, echoing natural cycles and the perpetual motion of life itself.
More than a figurative portrayal, this painting is a visual ode to the archetypal feminine, not as a passive subject of beauty, but as a vital, animating presence within the world’s unfolding narrative. The composition elevates the female form to the realm of myth and metaphysics, celebrating its strength, its fluidity, and its unbreakable ties to the rhythms of earth and cosmos. In reimagining womanhood through a lens of spiritual agency and ecological unity, the artwork speaks to both timeless themes and urgent contemporary conversations. It offers a meditation on the power of feminine energy as a sustaining, transformative force, one that persists, adapts, and endures with quiet, luminous grace.

Why Choose Us
Art has always, naturally, reflected the development and exploration of different thoughts and perceptions, and our current postmodern era is no different. It is interesting to see how art has evolved visually, yet the traditional methods of composing art remain a valid means of expression.
All it takes for an artist to rise above normalcy, is inspiration, which fuels his passion to paint beautiful creations throughout his life.
The valuable expression of art is always there with us, but now this expression is yet to take an interesting diversion with our art gallery, Gallery Silver Scapes, located in Hauz Khas Enclave. Art is no longer considered just decorative but has evolved and come forth as a major form of investment yielding high rates of returns for its buyers, making it an expression commonly used.

Mrs Mayor was walked into the art world by the legendary modernist Bimal Das Gupta, one of whose biggest collections remains with Gallery Silver Scapes. In the 1980s, as head and first curator of the Habiart Gallery founded by Mrs Rekha Modi — a childhood friend — Mrs Mayor worked closely with and curated shows for renowned artists such as A Ramachandran, GR Santosh, Rameshwar Broota, Sakti Burman, MK Bardhan, Dhiraj Chaudhury, M Sivanesan, and Arup Das among others.
Besides modern masters, she also worked with young contemporaries such as Sudip Roy, Paresh Maity, Subroto Kundu, Vinod Sharma, and many more. Artworks commissioned by her are now part of prestigious collections, such as those of the India Habitat Centre, Ranbaxy, Pepsi, Hotel Lalit, Bank of America, and many more private and public collections.
