This artwork unfolds as a poetic exploration of the profound connection between humanity and the natural world, articulated through a symbolic interplay between a saffron-clad figure and a majestic tiger. The composition captures a moment suspended in time, where movement and stillness coalesce in a dance that is both literal and metaphorical. The figure’s poised serenity contrasts with the tiger’s fluid grace, suggesting a harmonious relationship founded on mutual respect, balance, and the rhythms of nature.

The choice of saffron for the figure’s attire is significant, evoking notions of spirituality, asceticism, and inner focus. This color resonates vibrantly against the lush green landscape, establishing a visual and conceptual tension between human presence and the wild. The verdant expanse itself is rendered with rich textures and layered hues, enveloping the subjects in an environment that feels both alive and sacred.

Central to the composition is the golden orb, which hovers with an almost otherworldly luminescence. This element functions as a potent symbol, perhaps of destiny, cosmic energy, or the eternal cycle that governs all life. Its placement above the scene creates a focal point that unites the earthly and the celestial, reinforcing the work’s thematic engagement with spirituality and the interconnectedness of all beings.

The painting balances representational clarity with symbolic abstraction, inviting viewers to read beyond the immediate imagery into deeper philosophical reflections. The dynamic between the human figure and the tiger transcends the literal to embody universal themes of coexistence, power, and reverence for life’s mysteries. The tension and harmony in their movements reflect the dualities inherent in existence: control and surrender, civilization and wilderness, material and spiritual realms.

The composition’s spatial arrangement and careful modulation of color further heighten its contemplative atmosphere. Light and shadow interplay subtly, enhancing the sense of depth and movement while lending an aura of mystery. The artwork thus functions not only as a visual narrative but also as a meditative space, inviting reflection on the delicate balance between man and nature, the visible and the unseen.

This piece stands as an eloquent testament to the enduring dialogue between humanity and the wild, exploring themes of destiny, spirituality, and the eternal cycles that bind all life.

Why Choose Us

Art has always, naturally, reflected the development and exploration of different thoughts and perceptions, and our current postmodern era is no different. It is interesting to see how art has evolved visually, yet the traditional methods of composing art remain a valid means of expression.

All it takes for an artist to rise above normalcy, is inspiration, which fuels his passion to paint beautiful creations throughout his life.
The valuable expression of art is always there with us, but now this expression is yet to take an interesting diversion with our art gallery, Gallery Silver Scapes, located in Hauz Khas Enclave. Art is no longer considered just decorative but has evolved and come forth as a major form of investment yielding high rates of returns for its buyers, making it an expression commonly used.

Mrs Mayor was walked into the art world by the legendary modernist Bimal Das Gupta, one of whose biggest collections remains with Gallery Silver Scapes. In the 1980s, as head and first curator of the Habiart Gallery founded by Mrs Rekha Modi — a childhood friend — Mrs Mayor worked closely with and curated shows for renowned artists such as A Ramachandran, GR Santosh, Rameshwar Broota, Sakti Burman, MK Bardhan, Dhiraj Chaudhury, M Sivanesan, and Arup Das among others.

Besides modern masters, she also worked with young contemporaries such as Sudip Roy, Paresh Maity, Subroto Kundu, Vinod Sharma, and many more. Artworks commissioned by her are now part of prestigious collections, such as those of the India Habitat Centre, Ranbaxy, Pepsi, Hotel Lalit, Bank of America, and many more private and public collections.
