This sculptural artwork stands as a striking testament to the convergence of cultural symbolism and aesthetic precision. Cast in a lustrous metallic finish, the form radiates a sense of permanence and reverence, its sheen echoing the enduring legacy of traditional craftsmanship. The figure, rendered in bold contours and confident lines, exudes an arresting presence, both iconic and intimate, embodying a timeless spiritual gravitas.

The facial features are stylized yet deeply expressive, with almond-shaped eyes that seem to gaze inward and outward at once, inviting the viewer into a contemplative exchange. These eyes serve as the emotional nucleus of the piece, anchoring the composition in a gaze that transcends formality, imbued with both divinity and human tenderness. The exaggerated facial proportions, far from abstracting the subject, lend it symbolic weight, elevating the portrait beyond the physical into the metaphysical.

The presence of symbolic birds within the composition introduces an added layer of narrative complexity. These forms, elegantly perched or subtly intertwined with the figure, serve as metaphors for freedom, guardianship, or transcendence. Their inclusion enriches the sculpture’s interpretive potential, positioning the central figure within a broader cosmological or mythic framework.

The piece, balanced by the stable footing and gently forward posture, suggests both stillness and readiness, a poised vitality. The form occupies space with both dignity and subtle dynamism, allowing the light to shift across its surface in ever-changing rhythms. This movement of light further amplifies the sense of aliveness within the material, inviting continuous engagement from multiple perspectives.

The artwork invites deep reflection on the continuum of tradition and contemporary interpretation. It resists confinement to a singular reading, offering instead a multifaceted encounter where material, symbol, and form coalesce into a profound visual experience. Rooted in heritage but vibrantly present, it becomes not just a representation, but a vessel of cultural memory and spiritual presence.

Why Choose Us

Art has always, naturally, reflected the development and exploration of different thoughts and perceptions, and our current postmodern era is no different. It is interesting to see how art has evolved visually, yet the traditional methods of composing art remain a valid means of expression.

All it takes for an artist to rise above normalcy, is inspiration, which fuels his passion to paint beautiful creations throughout his life.
The valuable expression of art is always there with us, but now this expression is yet to take an interesting diversion with our art gallery, Gallery Silver Scapes, located in Hauz Khas Enclave. Art is no longer considered just decorative but has evolved and come forth as a major form of investment yielding high rates of returns for its buyers, making it an expression commonly used.

Mrs Mayor was walked into the art world by the legendary modernist Bimal Das Gupta, one of whose biggest collections remains with Gallery Silver Scapes. In the 1980s, as head and first curator of the Habiart Gallery founded by Mrs Rekha Modi — a childhood friend — Mrs Mayor worked closely with and curated shows for renowned artists such as A Ramachandran, GR Santosh, Rameshwar Broota, Sakti Burman, MK Bardhan, Dhiraj Chaudhury, M Sivanesan, and Arup Das among others.

Besides modern masters, she also worked with young contemporaries such as Sudip Roy, Paresh Maity, Subroto Kundu, Vinod Sharma, and many more. Artworks commissioned by her are now part of prestigious collections, such as those of the India Habitat Centre, Ranbaxy, Pepsi, Hotel Lalit, Bank of America, and many more private and public collections.
