Sudhir Bhagat’s Divine Union is a vertical-format abstract painting that radiates a sense of spiritual intensity and visual balance through its symmetrical design and bold use of color. Executed in a stylized and graphic approach, the composition presents swirling, layered forms in rich tones of red, orange, teal, purple, and black. These vibrant hues coalesce into mirrored patterns that pulse with energy and structure, lending the painting both emotional resonance and compositional harmony.

At first glance, the painting feels like a visual invocation, a symmetrical dance of forms that could be interpreted as symbolic of duality or cosmic convergence. The symmetry is central to the work’s visual language: each side of the canvas appears to reflect the other, yet subtle variations prevent it from becoming static. Instead, the shapes seem to surge and shift toward the center, suggesting a meeting point, a moment of union. This central convergence can be read as metaphoric, perhaps a meeting of masculine and feminine energies, matter and spirit, or the inner and outer self. Bhagat’s deliberate use of rich, saturated color contrasts, especially the interplay between warm (reds and oranges) and cool (teal and purples) tones, heightens the sense of tension and release across the canvas.

Despite its abstract nature, the painting has an architectural quality in its layout, structured, layered, and spatially deep. The curved, almost flame-like forms evoke organic motion, while the precise symmetry offers a grounding, meditative counterpoint. It is this fusion of movement and stillness that gives Divine Union its compelling presence. The artist’s technique, likely involving layered applications and digital precision, results in a polished surface that enhances the visual impact. The background elements suggest a digital interface, offering a subtle nod to the contemporary intersection between traditional abstraction and digital design. Divine Union stands as a vivid representation of Bhagat’s exploration into abstract symbolism and emotional form. It invites the viewer into a meditative state, one of contemplation, reflection, and inner alignment. As a visual composition, it is bold, arresting, and deeply intentional, balancing chaos with order and intuition with structure. Whether experienced as a purely aesthetic expression or as a metaphor for unity and transcendence, Divine Union is a abstract art’s capacity to evoke and transform.

Why Choose Us

Art has always, naturally, reflected the development and exploration of different thoughts and perceptions, and our current postmodern era is no different. It is interesting to see how art has evolved visually, yet the traditional methods of composing art remain a valid means of expression.

All it takes for an artist to rise above normalcy, is inspiration, which fuels his passion to paint beautiful creations throughout his life.
The valuable expression of art is always there with us, but now this expression is yet to take an interesting diversion with our art gallery, Gallery Silver Scapes, located in Hauz Khas Enclave. Art is no longer considered just decorative but has evolved and come forth as a major form of investment yielding high rates of returns for its buyers, making it an expression commonly used.

Mrs Mayor was walked into the art world by the legendary modernist Bimal Das Gupta, one of whose biggest collections remains with Gallery Silver Scapes. In the 1980s, as head and first curator of the Habiart Gallery founded by Mrs Rekha Modi — a childhood friend — Mrs Mayor worked closely with and curated shows for renowned artists such as A Ramachandran, GR Santosh, Rameshwar Broota, Sakti Burman, MK Bardhan, Dhiraj Chaudhury, M Sivanesan, and Arup Das among others.

Besides modern masters, she also worked with young contemporaries such as Sudip Roy, Paresh Maity, Subroto Kundu, Vinod Sharma, and many more. Artworks commissioned by her are now part of prestigious collections, such as those of the India Habitat Centre, Ranbaxy, Pepsi, Hotel Lalit, Bank of America, and many more private and public collections.
