Amit Rajvanshi’s Goat offers a compelling exploration of form and color within a richly textured geometric framework. This mixed media on canvas piece employs a palette dominated by muted earth tones, light beige, tan, soft blues, and purples, interspersed with vibrant accents that draw the viewer’s eye across the composition. The figure, seated serenely on a textured surface, is rendered through bold, blocky shapes that evoke a modernist sensibility reminiscent of Cubism, yet maintain a distinct contemporary vibrancy.
Central to the work is the figure’s intimate gesture of holding a small animal, likely a goat or deer, close to the chest, a motif that communicates tenderness and a connection to nature. This quiet interaction becomes a focal point within the composition, balancing the dynamic interplay of angular forms and saturated hues. The figure’s head is turned slightly, adorned with a colorful umbrella whose bands of pink, blue, green, and orange offer a vivid counterpoint to the more subdued background tones. The backdrop itself is a masterful arrangement of abstract shapes, primarily triangles in varying shades of red-purple, orange, and pink. These geometric elements are carefully blended, creating a sense of spatial depth and rhythm without relying on intricate detail. This technique underscores Rajvanshi’s interest in distilling scenes to their essential shapes and colors, inviting viewers to engage with the emotive qualities of the composition rather than literal representation.
The base earthen tones ground the work, evoking a connection to natural elements while the pops of warm colors inject energy and warmth. Rajvanshi’s layering of texture and color, combined with his adept use of form, results in a piece that is both visually striking and thematically rich. Goat exemplifies the artist’s skill in balancing abstraction with narrative suggestion, creating a contemplative moment that resonates beyond the canvas. Through this work, Amit Rajvanshi continues to expand the boundaries of figurative abstraction, crafting images that speak to universal themes of care, environment, and the delicate interdependence between humans and animals, all conveyed with his signature stylistic clarity and vibrant palette.

Why Choose Us
Art has always, naturally, reflected the development and exploration of different thoughts and perceptions, and our current postmodern era is no different. It is interesting to see how art has evolved visually, yet the traditional methods of composing art remain a valid means of expression.
All it takes for an artist to rise above normalcy, is inspiration, which fuels his passion to paint beautiful creations throughout his life.
The valuable expression of art is always there with us, but now this expression is yet to take an interesting diversion with our art gallery, Gallery Silver Scapes, located in Hauz Khas Enclave. Art is no longer considered just decorative but has evolved and come forth as a major form of investment yielding high rates of returns for its buyers, making it an expression commonly used.

Mrs Mayor was walked into the art world by the legendary modernist Bimal Das Gupta, one of whose biggest collections remains with Gallery Silver Scapes. In the 1980s, as head and first curator of the Habiart Gallery founded by Mrs Rekha Modi — a childhood friend — Mrs Mayor worked closely with and curated shows for renowned artists such as A Ramachandran, GR Santosh, Rameshwar Broota, Sakti Burman, MK Bardhan, Dhiraj Chaudhury, M Sivanesan, and Arup Das among others.
Besides modern masters, she also worked with young contemporaries such as Sudip Roy, Paresh Maity, Subroto Kundu, Vinod Sharma, and many more. Artworks commissioned by her are now part of prestigious collections, such as those of the India Habitat Centre, Ranbaxy, Pepsi, Hotel Lalit, Bank of America, and many more private and public collections.
