Rs. 0.00

Artist: Kappari Kishan
Medium: Acrylic on Canvas
Size: 24 x 48 inches  (60.96 × 121.92 cm)

Morning Glory presents a captivating procession of women, depicted from behind, walking in unison under the protective shade of large, ornate umbrellas. Each figure is adorned with long, flowing black hair and dressed in elaborately patterned garments that burst with a vibrant array of colors, reflecting a rich tapestry of cultural heritage and artistry.

The umbrellas themselves command attention, bold reds dotted with white, alongside bright yellows, adding a striking contrast to the scene and emphasizing the ceremonial or protective nature of the moment. These umbrellas not only shelter the figures but also serve as a unifying visual motif, linking the women in a shared experience that feels both intimate and communal.

Set against a backdrop lush with palm trees and stylized floral elements, the painting evokes a serene and warm environment, suggestive of a tropical or pastoral setting. The pale, muted background offers a subtle counterpoint to the vivid colors of the figures, allowing the detailed patterns of their clothing and the umbrellas to stand out with clarity and richness. Delicate details such as a small orange sun-like shape nestled within the greenery and a diminutive blue bird perched subtly in the background add layers of symbolic meaning and narrative depth, inviting viewers to explore the painting beyond its immediate visual appeal. These elements enhance the atmosphere of natural harmony and gentle movement, reinforcing the folk art sensibility that Kishan embraces.

The artist’s style is characterized by meticulous attention to decorative detail and a vibrant palette that brings warmth and vitality to the composition. The textured brushwork and stylized forms evoke traditional artistic practices while maintaining a contemporary freshness. Morning Glory is thus a vivid celebration of community, culture, and the quiet beauty found in shared journeys, rendered with both affection and artistic precision.

Why Choose Us

Art has always, naturally, reflected the development and exploration of different thoughts and perceptions, and our current postmodern era is no different. It is interesting to see how art has evolved visually, yet the traditional methods of composing art remain a valid means of expression.

All it takes for an artist to rise above normalcy, is inspiration, which fuels his passion to paint beautiful creations throughout his life.
The valuable expression of art is always there with us, but now this expression is yet to take an interesting diversion with our art gallery, Gallery Silver Scapes, located in Hauz Khas Enclave. Art is no longer considered just decorative but has evolved and come forth as a major form of investment yielding high rates of returns for its buyers, making it an expression commonly used.

Mrs Mayor was walked into the art world by the legendary modernist Bimal Das Gupta, one of whose biggest collections remains with Gallery Silver Scapes.
