The Divine Love is a compelling visual meditation on duality, emotion, and inner harmony, presented through a bold, vibrant composition that seamlessly blends abstraction with figuration. The painting centers on a stylized female figure, rendered with expressive brushwork and a saturated palette that commands immediate attention.

The woman’s face is the focal point, an arresting fusion of two contrasting halves that symbolize complexity, balance, or perhaps the interplay of divine and human emotion. One side of the face, drenched in vivid red and accented with orange tones, radiates warmth, vitality, and passion. In striking contrast, the other half is composed of cool blues and whites, taking on a sculptural, mask-like appearance that evokes serenity, mystery, or transcendence. The two sides merge organically into a singular visage, emphasizing Kishore’s masterful ability to unify contrasting energies within a single form.

Her attire, a textured blue dress with intricate patterns, adds richness and depth to the composition. The brushstrokes here are deliberate, enhancing the impression of woven fabric and grounding the figure in both physical presence and symbolic meaning. The arms and shoulders, painted in luminous tones of orange and reddish-brown, extend the warmth of the red facial half and suggest a life force pulsing through the body.

The background is equally significant. A warm, brownish-gold field with a mottled, layered texture envelops the subject in an aura of timelessness. It provides a serene yet glowing contrast to the bold figure, allowing the colors of the woman to emerge vibrantly while reinforcing the emotional and spiritual themes of the piece. Executed in acrylic on canvas, The Divine Love is both contemporary in technique and timeless in theme. The geometric stylization, textured surfaces, and contrasting color theory evoke influences of modernist abstraction and Indian folk expression, yet the result is entirely Kishore’s own. This painting invites contemplation not just of its aesthetics but of its symbolic essence. Through dynamic color juxtapositions and compositional balance, Nawal Kishore explores the sacred unity of love, identity, and the self, where opposites meet, merge, and ultimately, transform.

Why Choose Us

Art has always, naturally, reflected the development and exploration of different thoughts and perceptions, and our current postmodern era is no different. It is interesting to see how art has evolved visually, yet the traditional methods of composing art remain a valid means of expression.

All it takes for an artist to rise above normalcy, is inspiration, which fuels his passion to paint beautiful creations throughout his life.
The valuable expression of art is always there with us, but now this expression is yet to take an interesting diversion with our art gallery, Gallery Silver Scapes, located in Hauz Khas Enclave. Art is no longer considered just decorative but has evolved and come forth as a major form of investment yielding high rates of returns for its buyers, making it an expression commonly used.

Mrs Mayor was walked into the art world by the legendary modernist Bimal Das Gupta, one of whose biggest collections remains with Gallery Silver Scapes.
