The Soulmates is a vibrant celebration of connection, rendered through a strikingly abstract and modernist lens. This composition captures two female figures in close proximity, faces gently turned toward one another, suggesting a shared intimacy, silent conversation, or emotional resonance that transcends language. The title hints at a deep, perhaps spiritual bond between the two, and the visual language of the painting echoes that sentiment with both subtlety and strength. The figures are composed with stylized precision, flattened into bold planes and angular contours that speak to a Cubist sensibility. Their forms are broken into overlapping segments, geometric, colorful, and expressive, creating a mosaic-like effect that is visually rich and emotionally layered. Rather than relying on realism or detailed modeling, Kishore employs shape, color, and composition to evoke a sense of identity and togetherness.

The color palette is a lively interplay of primary and secondary hues: bold yellows, emerald greens, deep reds, and cerulean blues dominate the canvas, infusing it with rhythmic energy. These colors are not merely decorative; they define the forms and relationships within the piece, acting as both boundary and bridge between the two figures. The layering of shapes creates a visual texture that mimics depth without relying on traditional shading, maintaining the abstraction while offering dimensional complexity. Clothing is suggested through blocks of color, there are no folds, seams, or intricate textile details. This minimalism in representation allows the viewer to focus on the figures' relational dynamics and emotional presence, rather than specific cultural or temporal contexts. The absence of realism enhances the universality of the theme: a shared closeness that could belong to any era, any setting.

Patterns and contrast play a key role in the painting’s aesthetic. Repetitive shapes, rhythmic forms, and chromatic juxtapositions engage the viewer’s eye and reinforce the conceptual layering of self and other, individual and collective. The nearly symmetrical placement of the faces, close but not mirrored, conveys a delicate balance between unity and individuality. In The Soulmates, Kishore masterfully fuses form and feeling, abstraction and intimacy. The result is a visually bold and emotionally nuanced work that invites viewers to reflect on human closeness, unspoken bonds, and the geometry of shared experience.

Why Choose Us

Art has always, naturally, reflected the development and exploration of different thoughts and perceptions, and our current postmodern era is no different. It is interesting to see how art has evolved visually, yet the traditional methods of composing art remain a valid means of expression.

All it takes for an artist to rise above normalcy, is inspiration, which fuels his passion to paint beautiful creations throughout his life.
The valuable expression of art is always there with us, but now this expression is yet to take an interesting diversion with our art gallery, Gallery Silver Scapes, located in Hauz Khas Enclave. Art is no longer considered just decorative but has evolved and come forth as a major form of investment yielding high rates of returns for its buyers, making it an expression commonly used.

Mrs Mayor was walked into the art world by the legendary modernist Bimal Das Gupta, one of whose biggest collections remains with Gallery Silver Scapes.
