In this poignant mixed media work on handmade paper, Anurag Anand tenderly captures the profound intimacy between mother and child, presenting a serene village scene where a child is cradled lovingly in the lap of their mother. Rendered with warm, golden hues and soft, textured brushwork, the painting elevates this simple gesture into a powerful symbol of love, safety, and belonging.
Anand’s nuanced treatment of the figures and their surroundings imbues the composition with a quiet emotional depth. The gentle curves of the mother’s embrace and the child’s repose evoke a sense of refuge, both physical and emotional, illustrating the mother’s role as the heart of home and the foundation of childhood security. The warm palette radiates comfort and tenderness, inviting viewers to experience the universality of this intimate bond. The use of handmade paper as a medium adds organic texture and tactile richness to the piece, reinforcing the naturalness and authenticity of the moment depicted. Anand’s subtle layering and delicate lines create a softness that envelops the figures, mirroring the protective nature of the mother’s embrace. The background’s muted tones and understated elements situate the scene within a quiet village, lending cultural and spatial context while maintaining focus on the central emotional theme.
Through this work, Anand explores the deep emotional roots of childhood, emphasizing how early experiences of love and protection shape identity and foster a sense of belonging. The painting transcends the specific to become a universal meditation on nurturing, care, and the human need for connection. This artwork exemplifies Anand’s ability to translate intimate personal moments into visual narratives that resonate widely. It offers viewers a contemplative space to reflect on the enduring power of familial bonds and the quiet strength found in everyday gestures of care. Set of 2/9 in this limited edition, the painting holds a timeless relevance, making it a meaningful addition to any collection focused on childhood, family, and cultural memory.

Why Choose Us
Art has always, naturally, reflected the development and exploration of different thoughts and perceptions, and our current postmodern era is no different. It is interesting to see how art has evolved visually, yet the traditional methods of composing art remain a valid means of expression.
All it takes for an artist to rise above normalcy, is inspiration, which fuels his passion to paint beautiful creations throughout his life.
The valuable expression of art is always there with us, but now this expression is yet to take an interesting diversion with our art gallery, Gallery Silver Scapes, located in Hauz Khas Enclave. Art is no longer considered just decorative but has evolved and come forth as a major form of investment yielding high rates of returns for its buyers, making it an expression commonly used.
