This abstract painting captivates with its rich interplay of warm hues, predominantly featuring dark reds, vibrant oranges, and earthy browns. The composition is thoughtfully structured around a horizontal band of striking orange-red that commands the central portion of the canvas, creating a strong visual anchor that balances the surrounding elements.

Above this central band, deep red sections punctuated with small, scattered markings evoke a sense of intricate detail and movement, inviting closer inspection. These marks add texture and rhythm, contrasting with the broader color fields and enhancing the painting’s dynamic quality. Below the orange band lies a nearly black area containing simplified, suggestive shapes that subtly hint at figurative or symbolic forms without fully defining them, allowing viewers to engage their imagination in interpreting the scene.

The lower portion of the artwork features a repeating pattern of angular shapes rendered in warm tones that echo the palette above. This patterned area contributes to the overall cohesion of the piece, introducing a graphic sensibility reminiscent of stylized or decorative art traditions. The faint vertical division or grid-like structure visible across the canvas imparts a sense of order amidst the vibrant color interplay, subtly organizing the composition while maintaining its abstract nature. The artist’s approach is characterized by a balance between abstraction and stylization, favoring a graphic representation that suggests rather than depicts reality. This method encourages viewers to explore the painting’s forms and colors without the constraints of literal interpretation, fostering an open dialogue between the artwork and its audience.

Encased in a refined gold frame, the painting’s warm tones and bold compositional elements are further accentuated, enhancing its presence and inviting viewers into a rich visual experience. The use of patterned shapes and structured divisions speaks to a sophisticated exploration of form and color, emblematic of contemporary abstract practices that blend decorative aesthetics with expressive depth. This work stands as a compelling example of abstract art that balances vibrancy and subtlety through its masterful use of color, pattern, and structure.

Why Choose Us

Art has always, naturally, reflected the development and exploration of different thoughts and perceptions, and our current postmodern era is no different. It is interesting to see how art has evolved visually, yet the traditional methods of composing art remain a valid means of expression.

All it takes for an artist to rise above normalcy, is inspiration, which fuels his passion to paint beautiful creations throughout his life.
The valuable expression of art is always there with us, but now this expression is yet to take an interesting diversion with our art gallery, Gallery Silver Scapes, located in Hauz Khas Enclave. Art is no longer considered just decorative but has evolved and come forth as a major form of investment yielding high rates of returns for its buyers, making it an expression commonly used.

Mrs Mayor was walked into the art world by the legendary modernist Bimal Das Gupta, one of whose biggest collections remains with Gallery Silver Scapes. In the 1980s, as head and first curator of the Habiart Gallery founded by Mrs Rekha Modi — a childhood friend — Mrs Mayor worked closely with and curated shows for renowned artists such as A Ramachandran, GR Santosh, Rameshwar Broota, Sakti Burman, MK Bardhan, Dhiraj Chaudhury, M Sivanesan, and Arup Das among others.

Besides modern masters, she also worked with young contemporaries such as Sudip Roy, Paresh Maity, Subroto Kundu, Vinod Sharma, and many more. Artworks commissioned by her are now part of prestigious collections, such as those of the India Habitat Centre, Ranbaxy, Pepsi, Hotel Lalit, Bank of America, and many more private and public collections.
