A vibrant exploration of abstraction, characterized by a dynamic interplay between geometric structure and organic fluidity. The painting demonstrates a masterful balance between form, color, and texture, inviting viewers to engage both visually and emotionally with the work. The composition is anchored by a grid-like arrangement of rectangular and square blocks, establishing order and rhythm across the canvas. This structured framework, however, is enlivened by curving lines, swirling spirals, and organic shapes that introduce movement and a sense of unpredictability. These fluid forms, rendered in shades of teal, maroon, and gold, suggest natural phenomena such as flowing water or drifting smoke, creating a lively contrast against the sharp geometry.

The color palette is warm and energetic, dominated by rich oranges, yellows, and golds in the central and upper sections. These tones are offset by cooler blues and grays in the upper right and lower left corners, establishing a visual dialogue that balances warmth with calm. This careful orchestration of complementary hues generates both depth and tension, guiding the viewer’s eye across the surface of the work. Texture plays a key role in the painting’s impact. Visible brushstrokes and impasto-like applications give the surface a tactile quality, particularly in the gold and darker areas, creating an almost embossed effect. Small decorative details, such as the stylized eye-like shape in the lower left corner surrounded by triangular motifs, hint at possible influences from indigenous or folk art, adding layers of symbolic resonance to the abstract composition.

The juxtaposition of structured geometric forms with fluid, curvilinear lines produces a sense of both energy and serenity. The work feels simultaneously spontaneous and deliberate, inviting interpretation without dictating narrative. The visible traces of the artist’s process imbue the piece with immediacy, while the signature in the lower left corner asserts the human presence behind the abstraction. The artist’s ability to merge geometric rigor with organic vitality, demonstrating a sophisticated understanding of color, form, and texture. The painting’s layered complexity rewards careful observation, offering viewers an immersive experience that is as intellectually engaging as it is visually captivating.

Why Choose Us

Art has always, naturally, reflected the development and exploration of different thoughts and perceptions, and our current postmodern era is no different. It is interesting to see how art has evolved visually, yet the traditional methods of composing art remain a valid means of expression.

All it takes for an artist to rise above normalcy, is inspiration, which fuels his passion to paint beautiful creations throughout his life.
The valuable expression of art is always there with us, but now this expression is yet to take an interesting diversion with our art gallery, Gallery Silver Scapes, located in Hauz Khas Enclave. Art is no longer considered just decorative but has evolved and come forth as a major form of investment yielding high rates of returns for its buyers, making it an expression commonly used.

Mrs Mayor was walked into the art world by the legendary modernist Bimal Das Gupta, one of whose biggest collections remains with Gallery Silver Scapes. In the 1980s, as head and first curator of the Habiart Gallery founded by Mrs Rekha Modi — a childhood friend — Mrs Mayor worked closely with and curated shows for renowned artists such as A Ramachandran, GR Santosh, Rameshwar Broota, Sakti Burman, MK Bardhan, Dhiraj Chaudhury, M Sivanesan, and Arup Das among others.

Besides modern masters, she also worked with young contemporaries such as Sudip Roy, Paresh Maity, Subroto Kundu, Vinod Sharma, and many more. Artworks commissioned by her are now part of prestigious collections, such as those of the India Habitat Centre, Ranbaxy, Pepsi, Hotel Lalit, Bank of America, and many more private and public collections.
