In this electrifying composition, the equine quartet surges forth with visceral momentum, each figure a testament to the artist’s command of form, movement, and emotive color. Executed with bold, almost primal energy, the horses do not merely inhabit the canvas—they erupt from it. Their sinewy forms, caught in various stages of stride, stretch against the constraints of space, suggesting a force too dynamic to be tethered. Rendered in sweeping, assertive brushstrokes, they capture the essence of untamed spirit and the raw, kinetic charge of motion.
The chromatic palette is at once dramatic and harmonious. Vibrant cerulean and deep crimson dominate, clashing and interweaving across the surface in a visual symphony of tension and release. These hues not only animate the horses but also infuse the surrounding space with emotional urgency. As color and form dissolve into one another, a sense of rhythmic pulse emerges, echoing hooves pounding against unseen ground, a gallop suspended in time. This interplay of motion and color invites the viewer into an immersive, almost musical experience.
Beyond the surface dynamism lies a deeper duality: the wild and the refined, the instinctual and the composed. While the brushwork evokes chaos and freedom, the compositional structure remains deliberate and balanced, evidencing the artist’s mastery of visual equilibrium. This tension, between elemental force and cultivated elegance—becomes a defining characteristic of the work, elevating the horses beyond mere subject matter into archetypal emblems of strength, vitality, and transcendence.
As is often seen in the artist’s oeuvre, animals serve not just as visual motifs but as expressive vessels, metaphors for the human condition, for the search for autonomy, for unbound creative spirit. Here, the equine forms become avatars of artistic power, rendered with such immediacy that they blur the boundary between representation and raw emotion. The painting stands as a resounding tribute to freedom, not only that of the animals depicted, but of the medium itself, unrestrained and magnificently alive.

Why Choose Us
Art has always, naturally, reflected the development and exploration of different thoughts and perceptions, and our current postmodern era is no different. It is interesting to see how art has evolved visually, yet the traditional methods of composing art remain a valid means of expression.
All it takes for an artist to rise above normalcy, is inspiration, which fuels his passion to paint beautiful creations throughout his life.
The valuable expression of art is always there with us, but now this expression is yet to take an interesting diversion with our art gallery, Gallery Silver Scapes, located in Hauz Khas Enclave. Art is no longer considered just decorative but has evolved and come forth as a major form of investment yielding high rates of returns for its buyers, making it an expression commonly used.

Mrs Mayor was walked into the art world by the legendary modernist Bimal Das Gupta, one of whose biggest collections remains with Gallery Silver Scapes. In the 1980s, as head and first curator of the Habiart Gallery founded by Mrs Rekha Modi — a childhood friend — Mrs Mayor worked closely with and curated shows for renowned artists such as A Ramachandran, GR Santosh, Rameshwar Broota, Sakti Burman, MK Bardhan, Dhiraj Chaudhury, M Sivanesan, and Arup Das among others.
Besides modern masters, she also worked with young contemporaries such as Sudip Roy, Paresh Maity, Subroto Kundu, Vinod Sharma, and many more. Artworks commissioned by her are now part of prestigious collections, such as those of the India Habitat Centre, Ranbaxy, Pepsi, Hotel Lalit, Bank of America, and many more private and public collections.
