This abstract painting commands attention through its rich, warm palette dominated by vibrant shades of orange, red, and brown, creating an immersive and evocative atmosphere. The composition is built upon a complex interplay of geometric shapes and forms, deliberately eschewing representational imagery to focus on the pure visual language of abstraction. This non-figurative approach invites viewers to engage directly with the formal qualities of the work, color, texture, line, and spatial arrangement, encouraging a meditative contemplation of its dynamic energy.

Visible brushstrokes animate the surface, imparting a tactile, textured quality that enhances the painting’s depth and vitality. These gestural marks serve not only as evidence of the artist’s hand but also as integral elements within the overall composition, creating a rhythm that pulses across the canvas. Variations in color intensity and tonal contrast, ranging from luminous, fiery oranges to deep, earthy browns, generate a nuanced spatial complexity, suggesting layers of form that both recede and advance, inviting the eye to explore the painting’s multifaceted dimensions.

Notably, thin lines of deep blue are interspersed throughout the composition, introducing a striking chromatic counterpoint to the dominant warm hues. These cool accents punctuate the canvas, providing moments of visual respite and enhancing the overall harmony and balance of the work. This interplay between warm and cool tones contributes to the painting’s emotional resonance, evoking sensations of heat and depth, movement and stillness.

The composition is framed by a border of repeating patterned elements, which also appear within the body of the painting, creating a unifying motif that ties the work together. This ornamental aspect references traditional decorative arts, grounding the otherwise abstract forms within a broader cultural and aesthetic context. The repetition of patterns lends a sense of order and continuity, balancing the dynamic energy of the geometric shapes.

Through its intricate layering of color, texture, and pattern, this painting exemplifies a sophisticated exploration of abstraction. It offers viewers a richly textured, immersive experience that celebrates the expressive potential of geometric form and chromatic nuance, situating itself within contemporary dialogues on the power of non-representational art to evoke emotion and intellectual engagement.

Why Choose Us

Art has always, naturally, reflected the development and exploration of different thoughts and perceptions, and our current postmodern era is no different. It is interesting to see how art has evolved visually, yet the traditional methods of composing art remain a valid means of expression.

All it takes for an artist to rise above normalcy, is inspiration, which fuels his passion to paint beautiful creations throughout his life.
The valuable expression of art is always there with us, but now this expression is yet to take an interesting diversion with our art gallery, Gallery Silver Scapes, located in Hauz Khas Enclave. Art is no longer considered just decorative but has evolved and come forth as a major form of investment yielding high rates of returns for its buyers, making it an expression commonly used.

Mrs Mayor was walked into the art world by the legendary modernist Bimal Das Gupta, one of whose biggest collections remains with Gallery Silver Scapes. In the 1980s, as head and first curator of the Habiart Gallery founded by Mrs Rekha Modi — a childhood friend — Mrs Mayor worked closely with and curated shows for renowned artists such as A Ramachandran, GR Santosh, Rameshwar Broota, Sakti Burman, MK Bardhan, Dhiraj Chaudhury, M Sivanesan, and Arup Das among others.

Besides modern masters, she also worked with young contemporaries such as Sudip Roy, Paresh Maity, Subroto Kundu, Vinod Sharma, and many more. Artworks commissioned by her are now part of prestigious collections, such as those of the India Habitat Centre, Ranbaxy, Pepsi, Hotel Lalit, Bank of America, and many more private and public collections.
