Chaitali Chanda’s painting is a vibrant celebration of nature’s abundance and the intricate beauty of coexistence. Executed in acrylic on canvas, the artwork pulses with life and movement, drawing the viewer into a lush, immersive world where flora and fauna exist in perfect harmony. Rich in detail and color, the composition reflects not just a visual experience but an emotional and spiritual connection to the natural world.

Painting is a tapestry of lush green foliage, rendered with remarkable sensitivity and layered brushwork. The leaves vary in shape, size, and tone, some sharp and slender, others broad and full, creating a rhythmic pattern that guides the viewer’s gaze across the canvas. Interspersed among the greenery are blooming flowers in vibrant hues, adding bursts of pink, yellow, and red that bring warmth and contrast to the dominant greens. These floral elements are not mere decorations; they serve as focal points, infusing the composition with energy and balance.

Playful birds populate this verdant landscape, depicted with stylized charm and dynamic movement. Some perch delicately on branches, while others appear mid-flight, their wings catching the light in soft, graceful arcs. These creatures enhance the liveliness of the scene, emphasizing nature’s constant motion and interaction. The birds’ presence is more than ornamental, it reinforces the theme of peaceful coexistence and ecological interdependence.

Chanda’s color palette is bright yet harmonious. The artist skillfully uses saturated greens and bold floral tones without overwhelming the viewer, maintaining a sense of calm and serenity throughout. The brushwork, though meticulous, retains a painterly quality that lends texture and life to the canvas. Every element, from the curve of a branch to the feathering of a wing, is carefully considered, yet fluid and organic in its execution.

Why Choose Us

Art has always, naturally, reflected the development and exploration of different thoughts and perceptions, and our current postmodern era is no different. It is interesting to see how art has evolved visually, yet the traditional methods of composing art remain a valid means of expression.

All it takes for an artist to rise above normalcy, is inspiration, which fuels his passion to paint beautiful creations throughout his life.
The valuable expression of art is always there with us, but now this expression is yet to take an interesting diversion with our art gallery, Gallery Silver Scapes, located in Hauz Khas Enclave. Art is no longer considered just decorative but has evolved and come forth as a major form of investment yielding high rates of returns for its buyers, making it an expression commonly used.

Mrs Mayor was walked into the art world by the legendary modernist Bimal Das Gupta, one of whose biggest collections remains with Gallery Silver Scapes. In the 1980s, as head and first curator of the Habiart Gallery founded by Mrs Rekha Modi — a childhood friend — Mrs Mayor worked closely with and curated shows for renowned artists such as A Ramachandran, GR Santosh, Rameshwar Broota, Sakti Burman, MK Bardhan, Dhiraj Chaudhury, M Sivanesan, and Arup Das among others.

Besides modern masters, she also worked with young contemporaries such as Sudip Roy, Paresh Maity, Subroto Kundu, Vinod Sharma, and many more. Artworks commissioned by her are now part of prestigious collections, such as those of the India Habitat Centre, Ranbaxy, Pepsi, Hotel Lalit, Bank of America, and many more private and public collections.
