Emerging from the confluence of earth and water, this luminous composition articulates a poetic vision where the natural world and human form coalesce in quiet transcendence. The artist masterfully constructs a tableau in which a sinuous figure, rendered in delicate, flowing cerulean tones, becomes an emblematic bridge between elemental forces, embodying the fluid essence of life itself.

The figure, suspended between the aqueous and the terrestrial, evokes a sense of movement and stillness simultaneously. She is both grounded and adrift, her form shaped by the same rhythms that govern tides and wind. The artist’s brushwork is deliberately lyrical, with gestures that echo the undulating flow of water, tracing the unseen currents of consciousness and spirit. The composition invites viewers to experience the figure not merely as a body, but as an abstract force, an elemental muse who gives shape to the invisible symphony of existence. The color palette reinforces this duality of presence and ephemerality. Cool cerulean blues intermingle with soft earth tones, evoking a liminal space where boundaries dissolve and distinctions blur. Light appears to emerge from within the canvas itself, illuminating the figure from both above and below, suggesting an internal luminosity that transcends the purely physical. This delicate glow speaks to the spiritual dimension of the work, where form, color, and line converge in a metaphysical equilibrium.

Symbolism is woven throughout the composition with quiet intent. The figure’s posture, serene, fluid, and open, mirrors the natural contours of rivers and shorelines. Her placement within the landscape is neither dominating nor subservient, but integrative, suggesting a harmonious interdependence between self and environment. Through this visual language, the painting becomes a meditation on unity, rhythm, and the continuity of life’s cycles.

There is a musicality to the artwork’s structure, a compositional rhythm that feels both improvisational and orchestrated. Each brushstroke contributes to a greater symphonic whole, transforming the canvas into a visual rhapsody that reverberates with emotional and elemental resonance. The painting transcends narrative and enters the realm of the experiential. It offers a contemplative space where viewers may find echoes of their own interior landscapes, moments of flow, reflection, and transformation. In this sublime synthesis of body and nature, the artist reveals the enduring beauty of connection: not only between water and land, but between the seen and the felt, the finite and the infinite.

Why Choose Us

Art has always, naturally, reflected the development and exploration of different thoughts and perceptions, and our current postmodern era is no different. It is interesting to see how art has evolved visually, yet the traditional methods of composing art remain a valid means of expression.

All it takes for an artist to rise above normalcy, is inspiration, which fuels his passion to paint beautiful creations throughout his life.
The valuable expression of art is always there with us, but now this expression is yet to take an interesting diversion with our art gallery, Gallery Silver Scapes, located in Hauz Khas Enclave. Art is no longer considered just decorative but has evolved and come forth as a major form of investment yielding high rates of returns for its buyers, making it an expression commonly used.

Mrs Mayor was walked into the art world by the legendary modernist Bimal Das Gupta, one of whose biggest collections remains with Gallery Silver Scapes. In the 1980s, as head and first curator of the Habiart Gallery founded by Mrs Rekha Modi — a childhood friend — Mrs Mayor worked closely with and curated shows for renowned artists such as A Ramachandran, GR Santosh, Rameshwar Broota, Sakti Burman, MK Bardhan, Dhiraj Chaudhury, M Sivanesan, and Arup Das among others.

Besides modern masters, she also worked with young contemporaries such as Sudip Roy, Paresh Maity, Subroto Kundu, Vinod Sharma, and many more. Artworks commissioned by her are now part of prestigious collections, such as those of the India Habitat Centre, Ranbaxy, Pepsi, Hotel Lalit, Bank of America, and many more private and public collections.
