In this riveting abstract composition, K. M. Adimoolam achieves a rare synthesis of expressive freedom and compositional precision. A celebrated figure in modern Indian art, Adimoolam brings his command of color, form, and spatial relationships to the fore, crafting a painting that pulses with energy yet remains grounded in formal coherence.

The canvas is animated by a complex orchestration of angular planes, where fractured geometries overlap and converge. These forms are neither strictly architectural nor purely organic; rather, they hover in a liminal zone that invites viewers into a metaphysical space, part landscape, part inner terrain. The surface bears witness to both meticulous construction and the artist’s intuitive response to texture, rhythm, and spatial tension. Rendered in a warm, earthy palette dominated by ochres, siennas, umbers, and muted reds, the work resonates with elemental energy. The chromatic harmony of these tones suggests a deep connection to land and materiality, grounding the abstract language in a sensory and almost spiritual familiarity. Subtle tonal modulations and rich impasto reveal Adimoolam’s painterly sensitivity, drawing the eye across the composition in a fluid, almost musical movement.

Despite the apparent fragmentation, the painting does not dissolve into chaos. On the contrary, it is governed by an inner logic, an architectural balance, that binds its disparate parts. This equilibrium between disruption and design is a hallmark of Adimoolam’s mature practice, reflecting both the influence of Cubist and Constructivist idioms and a distinctly Indian sensibility rooted in symbolic abstraction. An evocation, of emotion, architecture, terrain, or memory. The canvas serves as a field of resonance, allowing form and color to act as vessels for contemplation. Adimoolam’s abstract vocabulary speaks across boundaries of time and place, offering viewers a profound aesthetic experience shaped by movement, balance, and transcendence.

Why Choose Us

Art has always, naturally, reflected the development and exploration of different thoughts and perceptions, and our current postmodern era is no different. It is interesting to see how art has evolved visually, yet the traditional methods of composing art remain a valid means of expression.

All it takes for an artist to rise above normalcy, is inspiration, which fuels his passion to paint beautiful creations throughout his life.
The valuable expression of art is always there with us, but now this expression is yet to take an interesting diversion with our art gallery, Gallery Silver Scapes, located in Hauz Khas Enclave. Art is no longer considered just decorative but has evolved and come forth as a major form of investment yielding high rates of returns for its buyers, making it an expression commonly used.

Mrs Mayor was walked into the art world by the legendary modernist Bimal Das Gupta, one of whose biggest collections remains with Gallery Silver Scapes. In the 1980s, as head and first curator of the Habiart Gallery founded by Mrs Rekha Modi — a childhood friend — Mrs Mayor worked closely with and curated shows for renowned artists such as A Ramachandran, GR Santosh, Rameshwar Broota, Sakti Burman, MK Bardhan, Dhiraj Chaudhury, M Sivanesan, and Arup Das among others.

Besides modern masters, she also worked with young contemporaries such as Sudip Roy, Paresh Maity, Subroto Kundu, Vinod Sharma, and many more. Artworks commissioned by her are now part of prestigious collections, such as those of the India Habitat Centre, Ranbaxy, Pepsi, Hotel Lalit, Bank of America, and many more private and public collections.
