Infused with symbolic nuance and narrative abstraction, this painting showcases Amit Rajvanshi’s distinctive command of figuration and pattern within a stylized visual lexicon. At the center of the composition, a female figure emerges with expressive stylization. Her face, framed by long golden braids cascading rhythmically across the canvas, suggests continuity and flow, anchoring the viewer’s attention. Surrounding her are white squirrels, their presence evoking fertility, guardianship, and a mythical communion with nature. The stark whiteness of the animals contrasts with the earthy palette of beige, tan, olive, and ochre used for the woman’s form and attire, establishing tonal harmony between subject and environment.
Geometric motifs, particularly triangles in varied hues, punctuate the surface, counterbalancing the organic curves of the figure. These angular interventions, emblematic of Rajvanshi’s formal strategy, create dynamic visual tensions while underscoring the abstractionist impulse. Near the lower left quadrant, a stylized white feline adds another symbolic layer, suggesting a totemic or protective presence within the scene. The artist’s adept use of acrylic allows for crisp delineation and subtle textural variation, reinforcing the clarity and layered symbolism of the work. Though firmly rooted in abstraction, the painting carries a narrative charge, open-ended and allegorical, privileging emotional resonance over literal representation.
Rajvanshi’s unique visual grammar reflects broader themes of identity, the harmony between human and animal realms, and the reimagining of figurative traditions through a contemporary lens. Compact in scale yet visually commanding, this work radiates poetic intensity, inviting prolonged contemplation. It exemplifies Rajvanshi’s ability to merge figural abstraction, symbolic fauna, and rhythmic design into a composition that is at once enigmatic, intimate, and deeply evocative.

Why Choose Us
Art has always, naturally, reflected the development and exploration of different thoughts and perceptions, and our current postmodern era is no different. It is interesting to see how art has evolved visually, yet the traditional methods of composing art remain a valid means of expression.
All it takes for an artist to rise above normalcy, is inspiration, which fuels his passion to paint beautiful creations throughout his life.
The valuable expression of art is always there with us, but now this expression is yet to take an interesting diversion with our art gallery, Gallery Silver Scapes, located in Hauz Khas Enclave. Art is no longer considered just decorative but has evolved and come forth as a major form of investment yielding high rates of returns for its buyers, making it an expression commonly used.

Mrs Mayor was walked into the art world by the legendary modernist Bimal Das Gupta, one of whose biggest collections remains with Gallery Silver Scapes. In the 1980s, as head and first curator of the Habiart Gallery founded by Mrs Rekha Modi — a childhood friend — Mrs Mayor worked closely with and curated shows for renowned artists such as A Ramachandran, GR Santosh, Rameshwar Broota, Sakti Burman, MK Bardhan, Dhiraj Chaudhury, M Sivanesan, and Arup Das among others.
Besides modern masters, she also worked with young contemporaries such as Sudip Roy, Paresh Maity, Subroto Kundu, Vinod Sharma, and many more. Artworks commissioned by her are now part of prestigious collections, such as those of the India Habitat Centre, Ranbaxy, Pepsi, Hotel Lalit, Bank of America, and many more private and public collections.
