Captures the raw, elemental beauty of a windswept coastline in a moment of natural tension and quiet intensity. This evocative landscape painting draws the viewer into a dramatic seascape where rocky formations meet the relentless force of the ocean under a brooding sky.
The foreground reveals a stretch of weathered shoreline rendered in soft, sandy tones of tan and muted brown. A piece of driftwood, worn and smoothed by time and tide, lies partially buried, its presence a subtle reminder of nature’s cyclical erosion and renewal. The textural contrast between the soft sands and the jagged, dark rocks offers a striking visual tension. Dominating the midground is a cluster of large, irregularly shaped rocks, their surfaces slick with sea spray and hints of green algae or moss. These rugged outcroppings, sculpted over centuries, rise against the tide like ancient sentinels. The artist’s attention to the rocks' varying textures and shades, from deep charcoal to mossy green, adds a sense of depth and tactile realism.
The ocean, in motion and turmoil, crashes against these stony forms in swells of white foam, gray-green currents, and cool turquoise splashes. Each wave is painted with energetic brushwork that captures both the power and the rhythm of the sea. The color palette shifts fluidly from the opaque whites of the foam to the darker greens of deeper water, reflecting the ocean’s changing temperament.
Above, the sky looms heavy and clouded, painted in diffused grays and soft silvers that suggest an impending storm or a moment of calm before one. The light is subdued and atmospheric, with no distinct source, lending the painting a contemplative and introspective quality. It is a sky not of drama, but of slow, weighty passage, mirroring the enduring patience of the land and sea. The meditative and somber, a study of solitude in nature. Through a harmonious balance of texture, color, and composition, the painting invites viewers to experience the profound stillness and subtle power of the natural world. It stands as both a reflection of external landscapes and an evocation of internal emotional terrain.

Why Choose Us
Art has always, naturally, reflected the development and exploration of different thoughts and perceptions, and our current postmodern era is no different. It is interesting to see how art has evolved visually, yet the traditional methods of composing art remain a valid means of expression.
All it takes for an artist to rise above normalcy, is inspiration, which fuels his passion to paint beautiful creations throughout his life.
The valuable expression of art is always there with us, but now this expression is yet to take an interesting diversion with our art gallery, Gallery Silver Scapes, located in Hauz Khas Enclave. Art is no longer considered just decorative but has evolved and come forth as a major form of investment yielding high rates of returns for its buyers, making it an expression commonly used.

Mrs Mayor was walked into the art world by the legendary modernist Bimal Das Gupta, one of whose biggest collections remains with Gallery Silver Scapes. In the 1980s, as head and first curator of the Habiart Gallery founded by Mrs Rekha Modi — a childhood friend — Mrs Mayor worked closely with and curated shows for renowned artists such as A Ramachandran, GR Santosh, Rameshwar Broota, Sakti Burman, MK Bardhan, Dhiraj Chaudhury, M Sivanesan, and Arup Das among others.
Besides modern masters, she also worked with young contemporaries such as Sudip Roy, Paresh Maity, Subroto Kundu, Vinod Sharma, and many more. Artworks commissioned by her are now part of prestigious collections, such as those of the India Habitat Centre, Ranbaxy, Pepsi, Hotel Lalit, Bank of America, and many more private and public collections.
