Jyotsna Mandapaka is a printmaker born on March 26, 1978, in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Printmaking completed in 2024 and a Bachelor of Fine Arts completed in 2022, both from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, and has built her practice through years of immersion in art camps, workshops, and exhibitions across India. Her work has been featured at prestigious platforms including the India Art Architecture and Design Biennale at the Red Fort in Delhi held in 2023, and the National Gallery of Modern Art. She was honoured with the Late Govindrao Nikam Award from the Bombay Art Society in 2021.

Jyotsna's artistic style is deeply rooted in observation and stillness. Her work is a vivid reflection of her surroundings, shaped by moments of solitude and a close relationship with nature, living amid the sounds of roosters at dawn and dogs at dusk. She approaches her canvas with a keen eye for detail, allowing even the smallest, most ordinary moments to find their place in her compositions. Memories, readings, and quiet thoughts blend seamlessly with the rhythm of the natural world, giving her work a sense of intimacy and honesty.

She works fluidly across woodcut, linocut, drypoint, etching, and screen printing, alongside watercolours, oils, acrylics, and pastels, often printing on world class Hahnemühle papers to preserve her editions with lasting quality. Her practice reflects patience and precision, treating printmaking not just as a technique but as a meditative process, where every small observation becomes part of a larger, lived narrative.
