Collection: SHABIR HUSSAIN SANTOSH

Shabir Hussain Santosh was born into an artistic family in 1962 in Delhi. His father G R Santosh was a great early influence on him. He earned his Bachelors of Fine Arts in Painting from the College of Art, New Delhi in 1986.

Santosh draws inspiration from Kashmir, to where he traces his roots, and its landscape which provides him with his motifs. He has inherited this creative attachment to Kashmir from his father, who encouraged him to consider its landscape an equal teacher to his instructors once he began his formal training at the College of Art. The strength of his works stem from his keen observation and his lines are artful and poetic. Santosh uses striking palettes to create fluid works that feature human figures, flora and fauna.

Shabir Hussain Santosh has received a number of awards and his works are part of private and public collections.
