This exquisitely detailed and a richly ornate depiction of a mythical or religious narrative rooted in Indian artistic traditions. At its center, the composition features a deity, likely Shiva, rendered in a relaxed, almost reclining posture that conveys a sense of calm and divine repose. Accompanying the deity is a smaller supporting figure, whose presence complements the spiritual narrative and adds to the layered storytelling. The painting’s style is firmly anchored in the heritage of Indian miniature painting, characterized by its meticulous craftsmanship and elaborate decorative elements. The figures are adorned with intricately patterned garments rendered in rich, harmonious colors, inviting close inspection of the artist’s mastery over detail. Each fold of clothing, each accessory, is painstakingly crafted, reflecting the devotional reverence often associated with such subjects.

Surrounding the central figures is a stylized landscape that incorporates architectural elements, trees, and other natural motifs. These components are carefully balanced within the composition, contributing to a sense of spatial depth and narrative context. The overall scene is elegantly framed within a curved, arch-like shape, which enhances the feeling of an enclosed sacred space, guiding the viewer’s gaze inward toward the heart of the story. The color palette is a thoughtful blend of deep greens, golds, earthy browns, blues, and muted tones that evoke a timeless, serene atmosphere. This nuanced use of color supports the painting’s spiritual dimension and complements the detailed textures that vary across the canvas, from smooth expanses to intricately worked patterns. The background’s muted olive-green further serves to focus attention on the vibrant details of the figures and surrounding elements, without overwhelming the delicate balance of the composition.

Jitendra Dangi’s work is a compelling fusion of tradition and narrative, inviting viewers to engage with the symbolic and devotional layers woven into this captivating miniature scene. This painting stands as a testament to the enduring power and beauty of Indian mythological art.

Why Choose Us

Art has always, naturally, reflected the development and exploration of different thoughts and perceptions, and our current postmodern era is no different. It is interesting to see how art has evolved visually, yet the traditional methods of composing art remain a valid means of expression.

All it takes for an artist to rise above normalcy, is inspiration, which fuels his passion to paint beautiful creations throughout his life.
The valuable expression of art is always there with us, but now this expression is yet to take an interesting diversion with our art gallery, Gallery Silver Scapes, located in Hauz Khas Enclave. Art is no longer considered just decorative but has evolved and come forth as a major form of investment yielding high rates of returns for its buyers, making it an expression commonly used.

Mrs Mayor was walked into the art world by the legendary modernist Bimal Das Gupta, one of whose biggest collections remains with Gallery Silver Scapes. In the 1980s, as head and first curator of the Habiart Gallery founded by Mrs Rekha Modi — a childhood friend — Mrs Mayor worked closely with and curated shows for renowned artists such as A Ramachandran, GR Santosh, Rameshwar Broota, Sakti Burman, MK Bardhan, Dhiraj Chaudhury, M Sivanesan, and Arup Das among others.

Besides modern masters, she also worked with young contemporaries such as Sudip Roy, Paresh Maity, Subroto Kundu, Vinod Sharma, and many more. Artworks commissioned by her are now part of prestigious collections, such as those of the India Habitat Centre, Ranbaxy, Pepsi, Hotel Lalit, Bank of America, and many more private and public collections.
