This vibrant and intricately detailed artwork offers a striking portrayal of Ganesha, the revered Hindu deity known as the remover of obstacles and the god of wisdom and beginnings. Seated gracefully atop a mythical bull-like creature, Ganesha is rendered with a captivating greenish-gray skin tone, accentuated by finely detailed ornamentation in shades of gold, orange, red, and purple. The delicate interplay of colors and patterns outlines his iconic features, including his curved tusks and richly adorned limbs, evoking a sense of divine majesty and spiritual presence.

Ganesha’s body is draped in elaborate golden armor and patterned jewelry, intricately painted to suggest both protective strength and ornamental grandeur. This combination of regality and sacred symbolism situates the figure firmly within the rich visual tradition of Indian folk art, while simultaneously inviting a contemporary appreciation through its stylized interpretation. Above Ganesha, a large, stylized tree blossoms with abundant yellow flowers, its branches extending outward to frame the central figure and lend a natural, protective canopy. The tree’s ornate floral designs echo throughout the composition, weaving a harmonious connection between nature and the divine. The background features a serene, stylized mountain range and a cluster of small village buildings, rendered with subtle detail against a muted gray backdrop. This setting provides a contemplative spatial context, grounding the deity within a larger cultural and spiritual landscape.

The artist’s hand-painted technique is evident in the textured effect that permeates the work, lending depth and tactility to the intricate detailing and layered motifs. The overall style is evocative of traditional Indian art forms, yet reimagined with a fresh, stylized approach that enhances the visual impact and narrative richness of the piece. This artwork explore a powerful cultural symbol through a vibrant, detailed lens—celebrating both the sacred mythology of Ganesha and the enduring legacy of Indian folk artistic traditions.

Why Choose Us

Art has always, naturally, reflected the development and exploration of different thoughts and perceptions, and our current postmodern era is no different. It is interesting to see how art has evolved visually, yet the traditional methods of composing art remain a valid means of expression.

All it takes for an artist to rise above normalcy, is inspiration, which fuels his passion to paint beautiful creations throughout his life.
The valuable expression of art is always there with us, but now this expression is yet to take an interesting diversion with our art gallery, Gallery Silver Scapes, located in Hauz Khas Enclave. Art is no longer considered just decorative but has evolved and come forth as a major form of investment yielding high rates of returns for its buyers, making it an expression commonly used.

Mrs Mayor was walked into the art world by the legendary modernist Bimal Das Gupta, one of whose biggest collections remains with Gallery Silver Scapes. In the 1980s, as head and first curator of the Habiart Gallery founded by Mrs Rekha Modi — a childhood friend — Mrs Mayor worked closely with and curated shows for renowned artists such as A Ramachandran, GR Santosh, Rameshwar Broota, Sakti Burman, MK Bardhan, Dhiraj Chaudhury, M Sivanesan, and Arup Das among others.

Besides modern masters, she also worked with young contemporaries such as Sudip Roy, Paresh Maity, Subroto Kundu, Vinod Sharma, and many more. Artworks commissioned by her are now part of prestigious collections, such as those of the India Habitat Centre, Ranbaxy, Pepsi, Hotel Lalit, Bank of America, and many more private and public collections.
